A New Adventure

Sometimes people wish something exciting would happen in their lives. Like they would win the lottery or something major. But I doubt any one would count having digital monsters as partners, as a major life changer, but for me and seven others our lives were never the same. It all started the day that we all met at a camp that summer, twenty years ago...

"I still don't know why I have to go." Yuuki whined, she hated going to camp and this year there were new kids going that year that were totally stuck up. "Oh come on, Yuuki don't be like that." said one of Yuuki’s two sisters, Starla. "You never know you might meet someone you like."

"Please just because you and Autumn met Kouji and Kouichi don't mean that I'll meet someone." Yuuki said rolling her eyes at her other two sisters, both of whom looked exactly like her, but that was no surprise since they were identical triplets. However that didn't matter to Kouji and Kouichi Minamoto, who were twins as well. "Anyway are the twins going?" "Not this year." said Autumn "They both caught a cold and can't come."

"Oh." Yuuki sighed, but she didn't realize that things were going to be more exciting than she thought

Meanwhile Tai and Kari were packing when Kari got a call from an old friend. Tai smiled and continued to pack while Kari picked up the phone.

'Hey Kari'

'Hey TK. What's up?' asked Kari

'Not much you going to camp this year?' asked TK

'Yea, Tai and I are packing right now. I'll see you there.' said Kari 'I will be seeing you at camp, won't I?'

'Yep.' TK and he hung up smiling. Matt turned to his brother and shook his head. He knew exactly what his brother was smiling at and he was glad Tai wasn't the over protective type

Kari hung up and finished packing with a smile. "Who was that Kari?" Tai asked as she walked back in to their room

"It was TK. we'll be seeing him at camp"

"Great. So you happy?" asked Tai knowing that Kari had a crush on TK but was afraid to tell him.

"Yes. I hope we see Sora too" Sora was at her own home finishing packing for camp

"Sora are you just about done?"

"Yes mom" said Sora "just finished"

"Alright then I'll take you to the station." said her mom coldly

"Okay" Sora said a little hurt at her mother's cold tone

Back with Kari and Tai: "Hey Tai, I'm done packing. Are you?"

"Yeah." said Tai "We need to go our we'll miss the buses and the others."

"Alright, let's go then" Kari said with a smile


Meanwhile Starla walked through the station looking for Kari and Sora, her two best friends, and wondered if they got to come. She knew that Sora had a stormy relationship with her mother and that Kari had just got over a nasty cold the weekend before. So she wasn't exactly sure that her two friends would be able to come, when she heard someone call out to her.

"Hey Starla!" shouted Sora

Starla turned and smiled when she saw both Sora and Kari standing with Tai and Matt. "Hey Kari Sora, Matt Tai. How are you guys been a while huh?"

"Yea it has and I'm good, got over my cold so mom let me come to camp" said Kari.

"Sure has." said Matt. "I think the last we were all together was when we were in school."

"Me too, Kari." said Starla." Yeah you're right Matt. Anyway What about you Sora?"

"Mom's not too happy about me coming to camp but at least I'm here, so it will be a good summer" said Sora

"Cool." said Starla "Hey Sora Kari can I talk to you two over here?" she asked. Starla noticed the looks Tai was giving her sister and she was wondering...

"Sure" they said together

"So what's up?"

"Kari is Tai seeing anyone?" asked Starla "Or has he mentioned about being interested?"

"No, Tai isn't seeing anyone. He hasn't mentioned anything but I think he might be interested in someone. Why do you ask?"

"Because look at the way he's looking at Yuuki." said Starla pointing it out to her two friends.

Kari and Sora look over at Tai. Sora then replies "You know, I think I saw him looking at her like that last summer too."

"I wasn't there last summer. I meant Kouji through Autumn and Kouichi." said Starla "So he met her then?"

"I wonder why she didn't say anything about meeting him."

"Yea he did meet her last summer"  said Sora

"I was wondering why my brother was always smiling last summer. Maybe Yuuki's scared he doesn't like her?"

"Well Yuuki didn't say anything but I did notice that there was a change in her attitude after he came back." said Starla "Why don't you two work with Tai and I work with Yuuki?"

"Alright, I should probably tell my brother about liking TK too."

"Sounds like a plan, we'll get Tai and Yuuki together this summer. you like TK, Kari?"

"I certainly wasn't expecting that, Kari." said Starla

Kari blushes. "yea, I do. I haven't told him yet. I guess, I'm also scared he'll reject me"

"Dude you must be blind." said Autumn walking up. "You didn't notice how he was always watching you last summer?"

"He was?" Kari asked shocked

"Yep." said Autumn "Anyway we need to get to the buses. They're loading up now."

"Alright." said Starla and the four ran to the buses where their friends were waiting

"What was that about?" Tai asked Kari

"You'll find out when we get to camp. I should tell you something though"

Tai looked at Kari confused. "What is it?"

"I like TK" Kari looks down blushing

"I know."

Looks at him confused. "What? Does everybody know?"

"Kari you always blush around him and look for an excuse to get away from him. I know what all that means." said Tai "Other than Matt no one else knows."

"Okay. And really, I do?"

"Yes you do." Tai said looking at Yuuki again. then he focused on his sister. "You should tell him."

"Well what about you Tai?"

"W-what do you mean?" asked Tai as they climbed on the bus

"I saw how you were looking at Yuuki just now"

"I d-don't know what you're talking about."

giggles "why the stutter? don't try to deny it to me. I have been wondering why you were smiling so much last summer. you like her, don't you big bro?"

Tai sighed as he place his and Kari's bags above them then sat down in front of Matt and Sora, thinking about when he had met Yuuki last summer. "Yeah. there's no point denying with you guys. just don't say anything."

"Okay, I won't tell if you won't tell but I will confess if you confess. I promise, you are my brother."

"Don't worry Tai, I also promise not to tell," Sora said.

"Dude you should really tell her." said Matt remembering how he had gotten Sora and him together two summers ago. "But I won't say anything either

"Thanks you guys. And Kari, I don't know I’ll think about it alright?"

"alright"

Tai sat back and thought about how he and Yuuki met the summer before and how he had had a crush on her since but was afraid to say anything. But if he thought that his biggest challenge was trying to tell a girl he liked how he felt, he was wrong. Tai didn't know it yet but that would soon become the least of his worries.

While Tai was thinking about his feelings toward Yuuki, Kari sat in her seat thinking about how she was going to tell TK that she actually liked him. But as she looked out the window she saw purple clouds and a strange white cat. One that she felt she had seen before.  It looked like confessions that summer were going to have to wait.
